The '70s brother and sister pop duo converted into hip hop form!

Colorado's own Bob Ross of boom bap Will C. is back to burn, and this time he's chopped the saccharine sweet Carpenters into tiny little pieces, Jack Torrance style. Dusty dollar-bin vinyl grittiness awaits you...

Five years ago, Will C. demonstrated his production chops on "Adieu Or Die," reconfiguring The Beach Boys' powerful catalogue into a dreamlike, critically-acclaimed beat tape. But what prompted this latest left-field musical voyage? Will C. gives his take on all the recent madness...

"A cloud of mystery forever shrouds the Carpenters. Beneath a phenomenal string of radio-friendly hit singles was a dark side perhaps more human and relatable than their magnificently polished sound let listeners on to believe. At a time when the screeching guitars of Led Zeppelin dominated the accepted soundscape of rock, Karen Carpenter's deeply-resonant-with-the-soul contralto vocal performances soaring atop brother Richard's highly inventive arranging skills tugged at a generation's heartstrings in a way that was depressingly uncool to admit to peers.

For years now, crate diggers have passed over the Carpenters for a barrage of seemingly more potent beat making source material. But slowly, the tide has been turning. The tragedy of Karen Carpenter's ultimate demise in her quest to reach true happiness touches upon our collective quiet desperation, and those heavenly harmonies become impossible to ignore. With the release of 'Bless The Beats & Children,' may the image makeover of the once considered goody-two-shoes Carpenters be complete and the family band forever be seen as rough, rugged, and raw.

without further ado,

Bless those Beats!"
