DEF BEATS, COSMIC MUSIC

Lyrics geometric. Colorful sounds to help you hover over in the summer weather. Get equipped with ethereal bliss from a faraway corner of the cosmos, or feel the power of a record like the bodyslammin' "Omega Supreme Soundwave." Will C.'s catalog paints a third-eye-open landscape filled with stray VHS noise, dusted loops, spaced-out synthesis, and endless wild styles.

Latest Release: Lighthouse (2023 Remaster)

Lately, a lot of new listeners are discovering my music through my affiliation with Sail On: The Beach Boys Podcast (thanks Wyatt!). I produce a lot of music cues for the show. So, for those looking for some of the extended versions of beats used on the podcast, a good place to start is my project Adieu Or Die, which you can find here on the home page. There's so much more over at the Music section of the site. If you can't find it here, chances are it's made it to my YouTube page, but not quite here yet.

Thanks for listening, and keep on rockin'...

I grew up near a Lighthouse in York Beach, Maine. It beamed ominously on an island separated from the mainland by cold and dark Atlantic waters. I set out to capture the feeling, and it grew out of two notes reminiscent of a fog horn in the distance, or the lighthouse's red glow illuminating and extinguishing eternally.

"The goal of this project is to rework selections from The Beach Boys catalog and give them a new, unexpected aesthetic. I want it to be a means for many to prick their ears up about an often overlooked larger body of work from one of music's most interesting groups, as well as a means for the long time fans with open minds to hear re-imagined versions of beloved material." - Will C.

Boston-based producer and Mr. Magic protégé reworks Beach Boys catalog on a FREE “fan-mix” album, to stunning effect

“'Adieu or Die' isn’t a few 'Pet Sounds' tracks with new drums on top; it’s a heavily researched, quietly ambitious, and brilliantly crafted work in its own right... – Boston Globe, Martin Caballero

“Dangermouse became a household name by reconstructing the Beatles illegally, and Dilla himself once took a go at reworking Pet Sounds, but Boston’s Will C takes his source material to new dimensions of trippy, sun-soaked instrumental hip-hop. The download comes with killer art, intricate liners and bonus cuts, all gratis, which should keep C outta court and bump his profile up a notch or 10. Rating: 9.5 out of 10." – Montreal Mirror, Darcy MacDonald

“Incredibly thoughtful [and] well-researched.” – WFMU’s Beware of the Blog, Noah Uman
